This role involves overseeing the journal\u2019s website, ensuring it is user-friendly, up-to-date, and reflective of the journal\u2019s mission and content. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in digital communication and a passion for promoting academic scholarship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Key Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Regularly update and maintain the journal\u2019s website, ensuring all content is accurate, relevant, and accessible.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Completing training on how to manage our wordpress site<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Working with the department to provide the best digital experience for our readers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Monitor website functionality and user experience, making recommendations for improvements and implementing changes as needed<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Address any technical issues related to the website and liaise with IT support when necessary<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Essential skills\/requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Current undergraduate student at the University of Southampton, preferably in History, Computer Science, Media Studies, or a related field<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Familiarity with website management platforms (e.g., WordPress) and basic HTML\/CSS<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strong organizational skills and attention to detail<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Benefits:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Gain practical experience in website management and digital communication<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Develop technical skills in web design and content creation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Contribute to the dissemination of undergraduate historical scholarship<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Position Title: Web Officer&nbsp; Reports to: Co-Editors&nbsp; Location: Remote&nbsp; Type: Volunteer Role overview: The Web Officer will work alongside the co-editors to manage and enhance the online presence of the Southampton Journal of Undergraduate History.
